Who Runs TaxQuarters
TaxQuarters is run by Rob, a property operator who — like you, if you're a landlord — has to comply with Making Tax Digital himself. He built the site he wished existed: free, independent, and not trying to sell you anything before it tells you the truth.
Why TaxQuarters exists
When Making Tax Digital for Income Tax became mandatory in April 2026, Rob went looking for a straight answer to "does this apply to me, and what do I actually have to do" — and found official-but-dense guidance from HMRC, scattered one-off editorial coverage, or software vendor guides that all conclude "buy us". TaxQuarters is the tool-first, sell-nothing-first resource he built instead: free calculators that give you a personal answer, not another article to read.
Independence, by design
Rob decides what TaxQuarters recommends before he knows what pays a commission. See How We Make Money for exactly how the site is funded and the rules that keep it independent.
How we keep things accurate
Every tax fact on this site is checked against GOV.UK and HMRC's own guidance, dated, and linked to its source — then re-checked on a monthly cycle, because HMRC's guidance keeps changing. If something looks wrong, tell us at hello@taxquarters.co.uk.
